Marvel is Marvel Dear Creator letter
First up, thank you for making something for me; I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with. All my requests are 616-flavoured, and I'm up for receiving fic and both types of art.
ETA: I've just realised I don't have anywhere near as much "optional details are optional" disclaimer in here as I usually put in my letters. In all honesty, write anything (that doesn't hit my DNWs) for these tiny subcorners of Marvel and I'll be delighted.
General likes:
I am very much up for any format, and any rating.
My tastes in Marvel these days tend to run towards things that play around with the wackier parts of established canon, which is reflected in my requests (if you count the Doctor Strange stuff is one of the original cornerstones of the established wacky stuff). Further to that, I am definitely up for crossovers, if you are, both within the different things I've requested (Earthbound characters ending up mixed up in all the cosmic stuff would be awesome) and between them and different parts of Marvel (of things I haven't specifically requested, I am particularly keen on SHIELD and X-Men; e.g. art of any of my requested characters as an agent of SHIELD would be awesome). And I absolutely adore canon-divergent AUs, which is one of the reasons I like Marvel in the first place. I have a particularly fondness for apocalyptic AUs where everything's going to hell in a handcart and the survivors struggle on against impossible odds (within this, I particularly like loyalty stuff, and former adversaries having common cause now that makes their previous disagreements seem irrelevant) -- again, this is the sort of thing Marvel helpfully serve up on a platter on a regular basis.
General likes for art:
I do like use of light and shade in a picture, and interesting Easter-egg-y type stuff going on in the background (if there is one).
An action scene that's a snapshot from an adventure, the character or characters in the middle of kicking ass. A moody portrait of a character contemplating some weighty decision. Goofy hijinks when they're off-duty. All of these and more. For shippy art, little moments of intimacy: stolen kisses, hurt/comfort type stuff (but please not too much on the hurt front), that sort of thing. And, er, I have no problem at all with NSFW art.
General likes for fic:
Overall, I am honestly very easy to please; I genuinely like pretty much all types of fic, from humorous vignettes, to angsty introspection, to twisty plotty adventure stories, and all points in between. If you're going down the smutty route, I am fine with most kinks except for a few exceptions listed in the DNWs below.
I do want to make a positive point of the fact that fic-wise I'm always up for non-standard formats, anything from epistolatory or verse through to stories presented through documentary evidence, 1st/2nd person, present/future tense, etc. etc. Again, if it works for what you want to do, I'll lap it up. (This is not to say that I don't enjoy reading third person, past tense, because I definitely do! I just don't want you to be put off doing other things if your inspiration takes you in that direction.)
General DNWs:
I've cut and pasted my signups below. I've added some more details below for my Squirrel Girl request, because looking at the Signup Summary that must be what we've matched on (everything else is at 1/1 with my offer and my request). I will come back and add more for my others, though, just in case.(I'm going to stick my neck out and say by the end of Wednesday 16th.) E(much later)TA: Well, that never happened, did it? But now that I'm a pinch hit it occurs to me I really ought to get on that ...
Squirrel Girl (well, OK, technically "Marvel 616", but she's the only character I've requested)
Requested character: Doreen Green
Signup: I mostly know Squirrel Girl through the current North/Hernandez run but am open to other parts of her timeline as well. I love her approach to life as a superhero in general, and the specific situations she finds herself in.
The supporting cast aren't in the tag set but feel very free to include them if you want. (I ship Doreen/Nancy, for what it's worth.)
I am bummed out with myself for not having thought to nominate this, because I would definitely have included the supporting cast of the current run; genuinely anything would be very welcome. I really like watching Squirrel Girl trying to solve problems non-violently first but being able to kick butts (and eat nuts) when she needs to. An encounter with some villain she hasn't dealt with yet would be awesome, or some sort of AU/futurefic. Or what if she ends up trapped somewhere where there aren't any squirrels? (An alien planet or just somewhere on Earth where they aren't common? Or a post-apocalyptic AU in which it turns out environmental problems have been deliberately exacerbated by some fiendish villain to remove the threat of animal-themed superheroes like Doreen and her friends?) On the other hand, I'd be equally happy with something slice-of-life-y about her on her CS course, or indeed as I said in my signup something from her previous canon like GLA. I could also go for her meeting the 616 version of Phil Coulson and bonding with him over being fannish about superheroes.
Re: the current run though, if you know it, I am also a long-time fan of Ryan North's Dinosaur Comics, so I do find it hilarious that a lot of the obsessions that he expresses in that are now being put into the mouths of characters like Nancy, like the bit about the ideal robot body. (NGL, if you do know Dinosaur Comics, a crossover where Doreen [and co?] go back in time and meet T-Rex, Dromiecious and Utahraptor would be amazing.)
Annihilation Storyline and Sequels
Requests: anything from the tag set, so:
Characters: Drax, Gamora, Groot, Moondragon, Star-Lord, Quasar (Phyla-Vell version), Nova, Rocket Raccoon
(Friend/Relation)ships: Gamora/Nova, Groot & Rocket Raccoon, Guardians of the Galaxy Team, Moondragon & Drax, Moondragon/Quasar, Star-Lord/Nova
Signup: I am madly in love with this whole complex storyline and the way it stitched together all the different space bits from different parts of Marvel continuity. I would love to see anything at all exploring the setting and characters further, to be honest. Some of my fave things about it are the sort of strange loyalty that builds up between people with every reason to be wary of each other in the face of a greater threat, and the fighting back even against overwhelming odds stuff.
I'm not sure what more to add to my signup here. This storyline basically does it for me on the stuff I describe at the top about post-apocalyptic AUs, only it's not an AU.
Feel free to bring in other characters involved in the storyline (I ran out of nom slots before I could include Ronan, Super-Skrull, etc.) or pit the characters against other cosmic threats. Most of the ships are self-explanatory; I think I should say that what I like about Moondragon & Drax is the potential for extreme weirdness in their father-daughter relationship given their backstory, which I do think the canon underexplored.
I am definitely up for AUs, crossovers, etc. here. But I have a specific DNW here in that I'm not keen on the Bendis Guardians run; feel free to allude to it, but don't make it a focal point, please. Basically, I take canon as ending in 2010.
Cable and Deadpool
Requested relationship: Cable/Deadpool
Signup: Would love anything about these two, from pining/Wade being confused about his feelings type stuff to get together to established relationship to whatever. Canon divergent AUs of one sort or another particularly welcome here.
I nommed a whole bunch of stuff for this but in the end decided to just request the main ship. (I offered the rest, but I don't think anyone else ended up requesting.) I really do love their interactions (er, and Deadpool's confused fantasies). Feel free to go wild with alternate versions, Deadpool breaking the fourth wall, etc. (as indeed the canon does). I recently read "Deadpool and Cable: Split Second" which is very much a sequel (and prequel and sidequel etc., thanks to time travel) to this, so feel free to play with that as well if you want.
Nextwave
Requests: anything from the tag set, so:
Characters: Aaron Stack | Machine Man, Dirk Anger, Elsa Bloodstone, Monica Rambeau, Tabitha Smith, The Captain
Relationships: Elsa Bloodstone/Aaron Stack | Machine Man, Elsa Bloodstone/Monica Rambeau, Elsa Bloodstone/Tabitha Smith, Monica Rambeau/Aaron Stack | Machine Man, Monica Rambeau/Tabitha Smith, Nextwave (team), Tabitha Smith/Aaron Stack | Machine Man, The Captain/Monica Rambeau
Signup: "Oh my God, they explode! My life has taken on new meaning."
"My robot brain needs beer."
And then there's the theme song...
Translation: Anything at all that captures the style of the original would be awesome. I could go for a prequel from before they find out what Beyond Corp are up to, a sequel where they're doing "Anything we want", as Monica puts it at the end, or something squeezed into a gap between their canon adventures.
Go wild, basically. I know that's generally considered an annoying thing to see in an exchange letter, but it's what Nextwave did with the entire Marvel universe to glorious effect.
FWIW, I definitely see the ships as, erm, releasing tensions within the team, if you see what I mean, rather than shmoopy true love forevermore.
The original Lee/Ditko Doctor Strange run
Requests: anything from the tag set, so:
Characters: The Ancient One, Clea, Dormammu, Karl Mordo | Baron Mordo, Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange, Victoria Bentley, Wong
Relationships: Clea/Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange, Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange/Wong, Victoria Bentley/Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange
Signup: I'm in love with the High Weirdness of the early Doctor Strange stuff with all the visits to other dimensions and astral forms and so on. Anything at all about Doc and/or his supporting cast dealing with that sort of thing would be great. (In fact, I'd be very interested in seeing Wong/Clea/etc. coping without him, whether separately or together.)
What it says in the signup, basically. I would be very much up for something in that brash huckster-ish Stan Lee style, or equally intense and brooding psychological stuff about what's really happening mentally in those spell battles and the cost of magic, etc. The tone of the comics often veers into "one person alone against a hostile environment", whether that's the Dark Dimension or Earth itself when Mordo has agents everywhere looking for Doc, and I'd like to see that -- or the counterpoint, when he thinks he's alone but has people looking out for him all along. Or a worldbuilding piece delving deeply into the weirdness of Marvel's cosmology.
(Note: While I definitely enjoy these stories, I read them with a strong "product of their time" filter; I'm very conscious of (among other things) the problematic racial aspects. In particular, I would definitely prefer not to receive a fic where the Wong characterisation followed directly from the servile stereotype he is sadly too often [almost always] treated as in this run. I'm keen on the later treatments of him as basically Stephen's loyal best friend.)
ETA: I've just realised I don't have anywhere near as much "optional details are optional" disclaimer in here as I usually put in my letters. In all honesty, write anything (that doesn't hit my DNWs) for these tiny subcorners of Marvel and I'll be delighted.

General DNWs:
- excessively fluffy fluff (domestic slice of life is fine with me but go too far with shmoopy terms of endearment and so on and it usually becomes out of character, IMO)
- pregnancy/kidfic
- non-canon-divergent AUs (that is, I would prefer not to receive a/b/o-verse, coffee shop/high school/etc. mundane AU, and so on and so forth - canon-divergent AU on the other hand is fine, as noted above)
- kinks involving bodily fluids (scat, watersports, emetophilia, bloodplay, etc.)
- dubcon/non-con
- incest (I don't think this is directly relevant to any of these requests, to be honest, but please no background incest if you're crossing over with other parts of Marvel where there is the potential for it ...)
- under-16s having sex (again, not directly relevant as far as I can see)
